of essays and field camp

decided to pen down a few thoughts. i realised i should be careful of what i say in the army...

last week was "field camp" for us with the apostrophe because we got to come back to the company line to sleep at night. yesterday we had to pen this essay to explain why our bunk was dirty. our section crapped this three pages long essay which i thought amused the platoon sergeant just as much as we had amused ourselves.

going for DSTA final selection interview tomorrow. just hope to do my best.

next week would be live firing. i sense disaster ahead, for i struggled even during the imt which is pretty much like an arcade game.

we had homework this weekend!!! yea, don't be surprise army gives homework too. i had to write essays and appraisals which i haven't really got started at all yet.

so far army life would have been monotonous if not for my cool bunkmates! :)

POC (passing out ceremony) is on 11 march! which is really soon. sense of ambivalence. just as i hate returning to the damned island after each book out i pretty much sense that i would miss tekong life after POC. I don't know...

off to my grandmother house for a sumptuous lunch!

excused!

back! alive and not kicking haha. nursing a terrible cough with lots of phlegm to spare. anyway my two weeks of confinement wasn't much like a confinement since i booked out for the MFA scholarship talk and ended up having a fever. In the end, I reported sick from outside and got to rest at home for two days before returning to tekong aka the damned island lol. I booked out yesterday night feeling really tired and sick but still rushed down to join my family members for a renuion dinner at Warren Country Club.

not supposed to blog any details regarding army life. Just that I think there is something wrong with the tekong water or something a lot of people are falling sick. My section mates (aka bunk mates) are all jc students and are really cool and helpful. So I feel fortunate enough to be able to spend the next two months or so with them! haha. Just before booking out, 4 of my bunk mates have already fallen sick and went home before including me myself.

Since I am in PES C, NS didn't require me to perfomr really strenuous activities. Nevertheless there was the usual rushing for time, marching, drills...etc. The funny thing is that everyday increasing number of people are wearing the "excuse tag" which shows that they are excused from jumping, marching, running, physical activities, army uniforms...blah blah blah. I think sooner or later my whole platoon would have the excused card haha. I am excused from road march, so everytime they have that activity I would start to wash the toilets and pick up dead leaves. I think my company building is going to be polished and would shine sooner or later lol. I am easily recognised in my company owing to my stature and the many officers and sergeants have given me lots of different nicknames. really hilarious.

chinese new year ever today...but I couldn't eat all the chinese new year goodies. damn! shall post pictures of my chinese new year visitations next time... then you guys could see how I look being botak! my parents think that I look funny because my head is really round like a watermelon lol.
